Summer is just around the corner and Spring is the best time to think about post-winter detox. Before you purchase any expensive lotion, supplements and decide to go on another diet, try this simple detox. Every detox starts with food.
Some foods are “dirtier” than others. Here is the 2017 “Dirty Dozen” list:
11. Sweet bell peppers
- More than 98 percent of samples of strawberries, spinach, peaches, nectarines, cherries and apples tested positive for residue of at least one pesticide.
- A single sample of strawberries showed 20 different pesticides.

More than 70% of the conventionally grown food is contaminated with pesticides and toxins that do not belong in our bodies. Some produce have residues of a neurotoxic pesticide that is banned in Europe. Those neurotoxic pesticide linked to behavioral disorders in children. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) researchers found a total of 178 different pesticides on the thousands of produce samples they analyzed. Besides washing your foods, organic foods are our best option to steer away from polytenes we do not want in our bodies.
We cannot say NO to fruits and vegetables, we are plant-based eaters after all! Not only fruits and veggies are essential to us but they are also truly delicious.
